Just finished another in my series of the Long Necked Dachshund so I thought I might as well throw up all the images I have to date. Am still working on them and would like to turn them into a kind of children't book for adults when I am finished.

1. Long though to be extinct, this long necked Dachshund was found lurking below the streets of Paris in the abandoned quarries of Paris.

2. Long though to be extinct, this long necked Dachshund was found lurking below the streets of Paris in the abandoned quarries, munching down on a delicious light flowers whilst humming Mairzy Doats softly to himself.

3. When the two Long Necked Dachshundâs met it was love at first sight, which is probably a good thing, as this might be the last two remaining of their species, long thought to be extent. The fled the party immediately and started their mating ritual with some canoodling.

4. The Long Necked Dachshund dreams about going to the surface, or did he go there in a dream once before? If one doesn't sleep, but dreams nevertheless, is it still a dream? Regardless he dreams about not dreaming and if people dream on the surface.

h
5. After reading about shooting stars in a children's book; the Long Necked Dachshund ventures outside go stargazing. He was so excited his skin started sparking and he had to return underground. He never saw a shooting star; but he enjoyed his trip regardless.

6. Did you ever hear music on the street and never know where it came from? Maybe the answer is under your feet. Maybe it was a Long Necked Dachshund playing double bass with the greats in a cave filled with candles and bottle caps.

7. “My eyelids spike me like the blades of a thousand saws, please, I implore that I be granted sleep once more” he would tell the Sandman, that is, if only he could find him. He was sure he must live in the quarries, but no matter how far he searched, he was no where to be seen.

This is so creative and whimsical, I love this! You should totally keep doing these. How do you get the light painting so accurate, is it just persistence or practice or something?

Thanks guys.

Johnny Mnemonic, nothing tricky about the light painting. Just practice. It also helps that it is a non sensical shape, so if I get it wrong it doesn't matter too much either.

Ah, yeah, that's kind of what I figured, but had to ask. They really are lovely, thanks for sharing them! I imagine they take a little longer and a little more thought than the smiley faces I used to do when I was younger. :p

A couple more images I have shot in the series. I should really plan a large weekend and knock out a dozen more or so. The story is becoming more concrete, but there is still a lot of work to do.

“I am sure if only I could find the perfect bed” the Long Necked Dachshund thought “then I could finally shake this insomnia and fall asleep”. Lucidly he drifted though his landscape, searching forever more.

He never did understand war. He had never met anyone else, so he couldn’t quite comprehend the concept. Within one’s own mind was a different battle though. He was at war with his sub-conscience, and he wasn’t winning.

Wandering through the galleries the Long Necked Dachshund felt completely numb. He couldn’t remember the last time he napped and the sleep deprivation had devoured his senses. Maybe, he thought, if he could cut himself he could snap out of this waking dream. He reasoned that if he bleed, he could once again feel.

Great set. I love light painting photos.

I think that it would make a great children's book. My wife and I do volunteer work at a LGBTQ youth center. Your story focuses on (at least how I read it) with not being sure whats what, and living a confusing life. Cutting is a huge issue in the LGBT community. I even get a feeling of suicidal thoughts in your story.

And, just to give some advice (take it or leave it). The finding love photo should be near the end. Accepting himself so he can accept others and be accepted.
