Art is subjective. That I get, but sometimes ... its just fucking bullshit and it's got to be said. Clown vomit ... please no. Do not make my eyes bleed.

My 2c on the topic ... HDR vs. not.

vs. maybe a more tasteful B&W.

Just saying ...

Looks like your first photo isn't showing up. And why have another thread that will just turn into a flame war full of idiots yelling how much they like hdr.

We all know hdr sucks. No need to beat a dead horse.

My buddy from New York does HDR and it looks fucking amazing. It's so subtle and well-constructed, I wouldn't have known if he didn't tell me. Most of what I've seen though looks like crap.

"Will you compromise and then realize the price is too much to pay?" "Winners and losers... which one will you be today?"

I don't know if I would call that HDR. HDR (high dynamic range) consists of bracketing images (3-5 usually) with different exposures (anywhere from -1, 0, +1 to -3, 0, +3). Typically not done with moving subjects either. I like HDR when it's done properly...however, it seems most folks in the UE community suck at proper HDR. You don't 'HDR ALL THE THINGS!' ...there's a time and a place for it.

As bad as that HDR version is, the extra colors make it look like it's filled with a strange kind of circuitry. That said, also gotta love your use of a Soul Coughing cover for your avatar. SC never get enough love.

For me hdr is perfect way to get closer how I see. And yes: I did get that terrible hdr-plague when I did get into it, but thank (I don't believe god) I did cure from it quite quickly, or at least I hope so. It seems that everyone gets that plague at start, which is quite strange. I'll think it's just phase that people have to live through to get resistance to it.

My 2 cents on hdr...it's a tool not a weapon. It was created to overcome the flaw inherant in most digital sensors the lack of dynamic range. When I go to create an hdr image there has to be a good three stops between the shadows. I also use my trusty spotmeter to determan how many induvidual images to shoot first.

Ha. No.

I don't think I've ever put HDR on UER. lol ...even in the beginning when it was 'Burn her at the stake!' in the beginning when I first joined.

Actually, no...the ONLY HDR that's ever been on UER was Six Flags NOLA...and that was aaaaaages ago.
