Well as I frequently explore around the area, I tend to be lazy with the after part of posting the photos. So maybe I'll work on that as a new years resolution and upload some past and future explores. Well we can start with this one from the other day. Some of you may have seen a recent post on here of some photos a photog took that had an article written about the place. I'm not sure how old his photos were or perhaps the damage was caused by the article? In any case here is the great Chinese experience. Over 50k square feet and three floors of restaurant space, plus a half basement.

Check out the full album, where the photos of the actual inside are.

Unfortunately as I found the iPhone 6 Plus is a lot harder to take photos with than I expected while trying to explore. So enjoy the crappy quality pictures but feel free to ask any questions.

The basement consists of a concrete encased level that runs the front of the building however doesn't have a full basement. As far as we could tell this was the only basement level. It had a few rooms all of which contained a boat load of items from dishes, plates, cups, decorations, etc...

The first floor consisted of multiple function spaces / ball rooms. The coat check, main lobby, a sizable kitchen and refrigeration area. Offices, laundry and mechanical.

The second floor was the main dining area which was massive. It has a coy pond throughout and all sorts of water features, bars, another massive kitchen.

The third floor seemed to be under renovation before the location was closed, it was more of a private function space it seemed.

This place looks like a fun spot, how'd it smell in those kitchen areas? Can't believe they left the liquor behind!

The rest of the photos don't look all that bad. My phone has a hard time with the flashlight pics as well. Sometimes I kind of like the blurry, washed-out results because they add to the creepiness of the flashlight.

Over all the biggest smell was the mold and musk. It's amazing for a place that was only abandoned in 2010 how far deteriorated it is. I've been in places abandoned 20 years that were in better shape. The kids and scrappers had a fun time with this place. If it wasn't for the fact that four different restaurants failed there id say I wish I could have bought the place and restored it. It definitely was a restaurant to be envied. I believe it cost just over 13 million to build originally in the mid 80s.

Just drove by there yesterday and wondered what that place has been used for lately. I remember when it was built, late 80s. I went there a couple times in it's original iteration. It was pretty over the top back then. Route 1 had not gotten as insane as it is now.
