A few shots from my old local. Demolition of the site is on the horizon now after 12 years of the place lying empty. Had some great times here, will be sorry to see it go.

The local kids aren't the artistic type, more the smash and burn type. But you can't really trash a place like this...it's 220 acres of rusted metal, toxic waste and crumbling concrete - you don't really notice the broken windows! It will cost them about $10 million to just clean the place up, not including demolition or anything else.

It rains so much in that part of the world, I can't remember it ever being dry enough that you could breath in soot. The whole place is covered in damp soot though which you end up wearing, leading to that satisfying post-explore experience when the shower water turns black

Makes sense. The popular coke plant in my part of the country is usually very dry, and we tend to visit when it's very hot, as well. It's pretty terrible. Heh.
