Hello,

I am new to posting on this forum but have been observing this site for many years.

Wanted Media is my production company and since 2006, we produced several historical documentaries on abandoned locations. I, as many who visit this site are attracted to these sites not only for its mystical beauty but for their stories.

I recently launched my first Kickstarter project called Forgotten Landscapes. It is a 60 day challenge that incorporates urban exploration, creativity and history. By selecting one abandoned location in each country of the European Union, my task is to develop creative short films and a historical photography book for these sites in that limited timeframe.

I am looking for funding and I believe, with the help from all you fine folks, that it could come true. What makes this project cool is that all profits will go to Unesco, an organization, for those who don't know, is geared towards preserving some of these historical relics.

Let me know if you have any questions. I don't like to solicit things but I believe it is a neat project for a great cause.

Let me just nip this in the bud right now, making your first post on UER to request money for something is not the best hello, use the search feature and type in " angelofthynight " or " Lord Rick " and see how well it usually goes.... which is a giant internet flamewar


so dont be surprised when this thread fills up with alot of posts flaming you for asking for money for your project.. People here kinda despise when someone pops on here and the first post is " Ive been lurking but never posted , please give me your money "


Im sure you have the best of intentions, but this isn't the website for this sort of thing. When the film is done and you want to share it here, and you hav e " joined " our community by making regular posts, and shared some of your pictures and stories, im sure things will be different, but to just come out here and ask for money is a recipie for disaster

I wanted to post this to share an idea and introduce myself.

If you guys like it, you can help financing it but even posting suggestions or commentary would be great too.

Welcome to UER! The whole idea seems like a good one, something I'd be very interested in seeing, but I would have to second what Mike said.

Suggestion: Contribute what you have, establish a presence here, and then you could start poking people for money.

I'm new here too but, hey, I perfectly understand that this is a community of "give and you get" not "ask and you shall receive."

Welcome to UER. That said please don't be shocked that this isn't received well. Like Mike said, asking for cash right off the bat, or in general will not get you many friends. Hell most folks here don't have lots of expendable income. I suggest sites like reddit when trying to crowd source, not UER. I'm feeling very nice today because I had a good day at work. So pretty please, with sugar on top, go to the fucking rookie section.
