Thought I'd found a good way in, but some salvage/demo workers were on site, and police activity kept me on the outside of the fences. So I took some pics from outside and called it a morning.

1-The mill was pretty much the only reason the town exists. The oldest parts were built around 1898.

2-Skeletal remains are all that is left.

3-The tools of mass destruction.

4-Peeking.

5-I wonder how long ago this gate closed.

6-Once it spawned a small town, today it is a goose sanctuary.

7-You can hold back water for a while, but you can't stop time.

8-Eroded.

9-A trickle through time.

10-Sad to see the craftmanship and pride torn apart.

11-Fuzzy parting shot, still learning the new camera.

You must be really close to my neck of the woods if you ran into this place. I didn't know anyone else here would have ever heard of Aragon. Its practically unknown to even nearby towns.

We're just North of Villa Rica. If anyone has any pictures of the place I'd love to see them. I grew up in a mill town, Griffin, and worked in an early 1900's mill (Thomaston Mills, Griffin) as a teen. We would explore the old, unused areas of the mill on breaks and after shifts. Old textile mills are a fascination of mine I guess.

Thanks! I'm still Slowly learning the D5300. It is a shame how fast we are demolishing so many wonderful old buildings in the Southeast. That row of warehouses in the back is still basically intact. Knowing how old mills like to stash things away, theres bound to be some neat stuff to be seen.

With the structure, I'm honestly surprised they haven't tried to make it into lofts like they have with every other mill in North GA.
