I've seen some edits of color film negatives, especially of UE & related material. Some don't know how to remove the orange mask from color film negative images before posting them on here. Since I have Gimp,(it can be done with other programs as well,)either convert the negative image to black & white, then invert the image in Gimp,(Image,Mode,Grayscale,Invert along with auto white balance) or this method (older version of Gimp used but can be adapted with newer versions) at this link-http://www.fr...tive_scanning.html

I mask out the orange film base through Vuescan, the scanner software I use. I don't think theres a way to do it in GIMP. If you really want to get good scans check out this guy's video: http://youtu.be/_pfQ61WTbug
