Posted by mookster I was a long-standing member of 28dl for years - it was the first UE forum I ever joined and the first one I was lurking on before I became an active explorer. I met many great life-long contacts on there so for that I am thankful. However I had a big falling out with the admin on there at the tail end of 2012 and I've never been back. It centred around their 'new' policy that every site posted must have it's proper name attached, I disagreed as I feel people should be able to call stuff whatever they see fit and I may have said on Facebook that they could take that rule and 'shove it up their arse'. Next thing I knew I was banned for a fortnight, I vowed I'd never go back on anyway and now I think I'm on a perma-ban. I know exactly who banned me, and he is one of the biggest cocks out there.

Like mookster but i got banned/left(with friends) in 2007/8 once i realized what they where about !. Like any other forum there are decent people , then the assholes who run it. Over the years have seen stuff about them, which occasionally surfaces about their light fingered antic's.

The new policy was probably so they can hit new sites for stuff to sell on eBay, as they pump new explorers for leads and information on stuff they find. Think things have been drying up for them to be honest. That's what happens when you have your head so far up your own arse.

Did hear recently that they have been bitching about the lack of sites coming from my country, since their snitch has lost his mods status. Shame isn't it as most other experienced explorers here have nothing to do with them.

I don't look at their site or have any interest been that way for a number of years.

out of all the so-called exploration sites I have seen since 2003, this is probably the most tolerant one... you have to be a real asshole to earn the wrath of the ban hammer here. Like any forum you have to be prepared to take some shit, especially if you say something stupid. That's just the way it is. And I'll add one last thing, if you think forums like these are brutal then you've never been on an automotive-themed forum... JACKALS!!!!

This is quite literally what I am doing as I'm soaking in this thread. That aside, I remember the days when overly zealous newbz posted numerous super dumb picture comments, invoking seemingly innocuous insults from the more seasoned members.

I've been lurking around the DB here and there but haven't traipsed the forums in a while. No Camaro anymore, I had a Mustang GT (I know I'll catch hell for that!) for a while and traded that when I got married (gasp) and moved an hour away from my job. Gas was costing me a hefty $450 a month.
