No public access

Toronto has some absolutely beautiful old buildings mixed in with all the modern scrapers. The building I have had my eye on for a long long time was built in 1930 and was the tallest building in Toronto until 1962. Incredibly opulent inside with tons of intricate details, I have always loved walking through to look at the beautiful ceilings. The one spot I have always wanted most though remained closed and inaccessible until now! The observation deck was closed to the public over fears of liability. Seeing that a window of opportunity had come up, I took a chance and went for a visit and the view was more than worth it!

Very awesome. Back in the 60's & 70's there were a few skyscrapers that had accessible observation decks open to the public. They even allowed us up there without parental supervision. Oh the humanity!!

That opening shot of the lobby ceiling is stunning. The 2nd shot has a really weird effect when scrolling back and forth by it with the mouse.

NICE!

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

That second shot will be a trypophobic's worst nightmare.

This looks like an absolutely beautiful example of Art Deco architecture, if those gargoyles are anything to go by. Any chance of an exterior?

Thanks all! Superss, this observation deck closed to the public I believe in the 70's but don't quote me on that. I wish they would open it back up but apparently the issue is one of it's a historic building and can't be altered.
