Posted by fiftyone_eggs Skating was my intro to abandonments as well. They were the only places you could build a plywood halfpipe unnoticed. Ah those were the days. Nice vid!

I also used to combine the two as a reckless youngster. We had an abandoned millworks / garage door building place near me that we swept and filled with ramps. That place was rad for a couple of years. Then there was an abandoned motel near my buddies mom's place we used to skate at. Back lot was fenced and locked, but nobody cared about the place. A couple of guys in the same neighborhood made a hole in the fence and put a couple of quarter pipes in the back yard. And now that I think of it, there was another sweet abandoned factory nearby we used to go to that had a nice concrete bank near the loading docks. Those were good times.
