Back to Jr. High

I was back in my little north Florida hometown and was taking a walk with my 14 y.o. daughter and stumbled on an unlocked door to a building that is tightly locked and shuttered. Usually had chains and locks on the doors, but somehow didn't when we walked by. Anyway...it's been in a state of disuse-or semi-disuse for a while, with the front school building is threatening collapse.
But, the gym looks good and had some lights on.

Rest of the story: I went to school here about 30 yrs ago and saw the Harlem Globetrotters play in this place.

Pretty cool that you got to revisit your old school. Had an idea a while back to bring alumni of now abandoned schools back to the classrooms and gyms and make portraits of them, along with short interviews about their experiences at the school. Like "I remember hitting a three pointer from this very spot to win the state championship game" and then getting a shot of them standing there on the court. Something along the lines of this:

but maybe a little more text/content alongside it. Great shots as well!

Thanks Turtl. The pics were only iphone, but not too bad.
I like your project idea. Where did you find the old image to layer on top of the recent?
