Got a chance to explore a shut down old folks home/orphanage last weekend. Located in NW Missouri, it was in operation from the late 1800s until the 1980s I believe.

It's a great place to explore, especially for beginners. Here's a few more shots I got

The floors in most of the rooms were rotted away.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

Please post more pics!
I shot this place, poorly, with film in 2002/2003.
Nice to see a good clear set of it.
Thanks for sharing.

Nice stuff Farva!

Before a big explore I like to work with leather. The Native Americans always said that working with hides and pelts releases the soul.

Wow, just look at those walls though. It looks like it was a really nice place! Is there a chance they'll use the brickwork for anything else in the future? Because damn. That's a fine ass building.

Were there any clues there about what life was like? Often you can piece together a general idea of what life was like and who lived there by what's left behind. This place seems like it has lots of history scattered around, and if you pieced anything together I'd love to hear it.

The most interesting part of a building is it's stories, after all.
