That one rusted out casket on the shelf definitely has to have something in it. Why else would it be plastic-tied to prevent the bottom from continuing to fall out? In addition, why would someone go through the trouble of checking up on it and doing that, while not disposing of it properly?

I was shocked to see it. I was sure that there was some type of special clause for licensing these types of businesses that didn't allow outright abandonment of bodies. The guy who informed me of this location has some contacts in the county health department and they have been informed of the hazard. I'm not one to whine about buildings being unsafe, but dead bodies are a bridge too far.

I'll be returning before long to check out some of the details that I glazed over- I'll be sure to report back

I was hoping for photos of a dead guy.

To be honest, I'm glad to hear that. If there are indeed bodies in there, as I would suspect, where the are the families to ask questions? That one in the white plain old box... that's how they cremate you. One does not get cremated in a fancy $5000-10000 casket, but in a crappy plain old box just like that one. Were they given pulverized wood ashes instead of their relative? I'm sure their last wishes were not to be left out on a shelf to liquify, thus they are not "resting in peace". I honestly don't think I'd be able to find something like that and just leave it there without making a phone call.

You know that musty smell that's in most every building?

This one was extra musty.
