Documental series about extreme urban exploration.
The subject of studying is other, unknown aspect of the city - its inside. Abandoned and beyond one's reach objects, that lay deep underground, among casual buildings and above them. With my filming crew viewer will cross the line and reach the inaccessible, we'll discover the real value of human's life, how it can be miserable and insignificant opposite to one thousand tonnes of merciless megapolis power.
In this episode invasion takes place in the Stalin's skyscraper in Kiev(Ukraine) - the so-called “House with a Star”. Overcoming difficulties and getting to unforeseen situations, the host with a filming crew passes through the complex maze of internal communications of the building, to achieve the target of the expedition - the highest point - the five-pointed star.
This show will immerse the viewer in the atmosphere of exciting adventures, historical aesthetics and thoughts about the confrontation of man and metropolis.

My comment is representative of myself, and myself alone. I do not claim to speak for any other members. I hope my comments are not out of line.

Had you been a member for a few months, or even just a month, I might have taken a greater interest in your work. As it were, this is your first (and probably only) post to this forum and it consists of what I would equate to a spam post. I would think it might be more productive if you had become a member for the sake of wanting to make a real connection with the group instead of joining, waiting, and then springing a load of spam into one thread. Perhaps had you been patient and posted some photos and commented on others' posts, somebody else would have posted of your website and videos, "You guys should really watch this. It's really good." Instead, I say of it, "This is nothing more than a spam post and should be flagged for removal."

As a one time forum operator, it was stuff like this that I could not stand. If I were you, I would delete this post, make a formal introduction, participate in the group, build up rapport with other members, and then introduce your primary content.

I'm only about half way through the video, but I'm going to say that this is NOT what urban exploration is about. Yes, it has some of the elements of exploring, but I see this as an attempt to get some attention on your video. This, to me, seems insincere, almost to the point of fake. You keep talking about how you have to be "stealthy", yet you say you have a production crew with you complete with lighted cameras.

Perhaps as the previous poster said, if you'd been here for a while, or made your entrance a little less "reality TV", you might have been taken more seriously.

PS> The narration is identical to the narration by Josh Gates on Destination Truth. Quiet obvious.

OK. I watched the video. If that is legit, it's def some very hardcore UE as far as I'm concerned. It seems you're trying to market a tv/web series of some kind. But as far as this seeming like "spam"... I didn't get the feeling anybody was trying to sell me anything.

Partly what makes people suspicious is there seems to be some budget and production values here much MUCH greater than what we're used to seeing. For example: How on earth did you get that last shot in the video with the torch??

But it's a worthy watch for sure. The location is stunning, the host has balls of steel, and I did not feel marketed to.

Nice work!!

Not at all. I would be just as suspicious if a user's first and only post was a link to a YouTube channel filled with shaky, portrait-mode, iPhone video.

So much for the rule of not posting entry details publicly. Let alone video of it.

The ending shot could easily be done with a quadcopter with a gimbal mounted GoPro. I've got one. But the quadcopter would have to be in place already and obviously operated by someone else.

The video is extremely well made. I'm not knocking that at all. And balls of steel? Yeah, no doubt. Borderline insane in my opinion, but that's just me. But it just didn't have a genuine feel to me. It seemed more reality TV than true urban exploration.

I'm not going to delete it at this point unless there is some compelling reason to do so. I think the discussion that can come from this will be interesting.

Most people outside our hobby would consider merely entering any abandoned or off limits building "foolish and pointless." Everybody in this hobby has their own reason for exploring. Whether that's just for the sake of curiosity, because it creates interesting photo opportunities, or for the thrill of it, it doesn't matter. I myself am an adrenaline junkie, and enjoy the challenge of overcoming obstacles. Hell, I sometimes climb abandoned buildings 5 + stories up just so I can jump off of them to another. It's a rush, and that's my decision and initiative to do so. Much like this guy does in the video. As for unimpressive, I would say it's anything but that. The guy has guts and you can tell it's not his first time around the block when it comes to exploring.

My only complaint would be what fiftyone_eggs said. Seems like you made an account for the sole purpose of posting this video here to gather an audience.

Unfortunately for you, people here are super suspicious, and value long term commitment over quality of work.

I myself think it's a pretty solid piece of work. Your GOAL for this video is left to be determined, and could change my opinion on it.

You could really prove yourself more by not just dropping it here and never coming back, but instead replying to the comments and continuing to involve yourself in the website.

That and entry details.... but it always seems like UE videos get a pass on that from everybody else anyways...

I actually quite like the video (expect for the part you show your POE, but i bet they repaired it not long after).

It's a shame you didn't try integrating at least a little because your reception would have been massively different. I wish you'd be more interested in the community and not our youtube views, I bet you have great stories to tell. You know, it's never too late. Why don't you go present yourself in the tread for new members?

Going in skeptical... but this was an entertaining and I really enjoyed watching it. Doesn't feel "legit" (i.e. done without permission), but that's ok. Like a rooftopping Bear Grylls.

Great advice from everyone. Integrate with the community and the reception could be completely different.

As for the point of entry issue, I completely agree with you guys. POE should NEVER been in a video any more than it should never be in a series of pictures or in a post.

With photos or a post, we can easily delete one or two photos, or edit a post. With video, the only option we have is to delete the entire video. And in that case, probably 40% of the videos would be gone.

I will create a post in here that hopefully will bring this to the attention of everyone who posts videos.

Presumably, there is a "use some common sense" when discussing POEs. If you, for example, show a POE for ... Packard or somewhere else that has multiple, staggeringly obvious spots for anyone with a set of eyes, this shouldn't be a concern.

Haha, I was going to write a few sentences about my thoughts on this, but you summed it up perfectly right here. Overly dramatized to the point of it feeling fake.

At first glance that's what I kinda felt a little bit, but thinking back on it, I highly doubt he had permission. At least I doubt they gave him permission to tear up the exterior for a POE, bend bars up, tear through the basement, etc. Nothing that can't be fixed but still... It also clearly gives anybody who watches this video who DOESN'T have permission to be there, the directions on how to do it themselves. And for this reason I doubt he himself had permission.

Some thoughts on real/fake:

- The corrugated metal POE that just happened to be "secured" by non-connected zip ties and a couple easily popped twist ties? Seemed very convenient.

Gotta be quiet in the basement... so I'll just pull the trash shoot and make a big noise. Seems reasonable. At one point he is spotted or something and has to run up to the roof, well one of the roofs. A dire situation! But then not so dire as to have 2 people walking back and forth across the "plastic" roof in full view of everywhere to get the various shots they needed. And not so worried about being spotted so as to not climb on top of the wheat sheaf at the corner. Or to be worried about setting of a flare on the star. Or to hang out there long enough for the drone to get the shots they needed... a drone they would have had to haul in some kind of case, presumably, throughout the building incl the POE (which he spent a bit of time in front of talking about how he was going to go in there.

Anyway... for all I know, this is some crazy totally legit filming. But having been part of more than a couple Urbex video projects and have an idea as to what would be needed to get all these shots, it doesn't feel legit to me. Not that it isn't excellent, nonetheless. But it feels more like that show from Discovery called Urban Explorers (which wasn't "legit").

Either way, I want to see more crazy Russian and Ukrainian rooftopping videos.

NO! Absolutely not. Read the post that I pinned to the top of the videos forum. POE's are not allowed. It hasn't been a huge problem in the past because there weren't as many video's being posted as there are now.

Some common sense has to be measured in situations like Yokes mentioned where there are so many obvious and gaping entry points that it really doesn't matter.

But POE's are not allowed and going forward, videos may be pulled down if they do contain entry information.
