I went into this old school gym last used in 1949 a couple years ago. Roof was falling in, holes in the floors, sub-floor basement, some kinda disease just about everywhere u turned. The outside looked decent but once inside it's like Lara Croft just to get from one side to the other and u don't know what kinda monsters were at the bottom. Finally it collapsed in '06.

I was at a rooftop get-together at an old power plant last summer. We had a few beers, then when my girlfriend and I wandered off I had a piece of the metal floor give out under me and it almost dropped me onto the next rusty catwalk. I'm not totally sure even was one under it.

It freaked me out when I realized this was a huge collapse. I didn't know it was there until I got to the top floor and looked down into it.

EDIT: I forgot about this one. The concrete floors in this place are pretty deteriorated and collapsed in a few places. Each step gave off some pretty horrible creaking noises. We made it to the top though!

For some reason that picture really freaks me out, just imagining walking out and seeing that.

Walking across doors that were laid across the support beams in lieu of an actual floor. I couldn't believe how sketchy it was when my friend first showed it to me but once I saw him to do it I walked around the second floor of that house all the time.

The sub-levels of the Toronto Power Generating Station in Niagara Falls about 10 years ago. The descent was only possible by using almost completely rusted through iron staircases down into a few hundred feet of basement levels. If they gave way and you didn't die from the fall, you'd be trapped down there for good. No cell reception, no way in hell you'll be able to scream for help. Only way out is a watery death while being bashed around in the tailrace tunnels. I didn't realize it at the time, only reflected upon it after. The thought of being trapped down there without any way out scared me a lot more than any fall could (and I'm fairly scared of heights so that says a lot).

I knew that getting down there is difficult, but it sounds as if you almost have to have a death wish to go there nowadays.

This place in France

Where apparently at least 7 people have been killed since it closed in the 1980s. Not sure if that was by nefarious means or people falling down inside/off it...but it was easy to see how and why you could die inside...the most dangerous place I have ever explored by a long way. Most of the floors looked like this, and what little wood was left to walk on was rotten almost everywhere.

Definitely doing either one of these two. The structural integrity was not there. It was good enough, but sketchy as fuck.

Some pretty great photos already in this thread!

Our environment is old underground mines so there is always the risk of cave in or collapse. Some mines are scarier than others.

The "Zig-Zag Ladder of Death"

Or 12" X 12" shoring that is snapped like a twig

Or just digging your way deeper into an already collapsed section

Looking forward to more scary pics!

If I saw that shoring snapped like that I would have turned right the fuck around. That's a whole other ball game.

The north end of this building collapsed years ago. i did not enter this area due to the floors and ceiling drooping so much. Concrete is not supposed to droop like that...

Same with this part of the plant... It was just better to stay in the stairwell area...

Oh man, some of those photos really make you think about how freaky it would be to have whole levels come down on you. I will use this thread as a reminder to be damn careful when I go into places that are sketchy.

Here's my only one. a farmhouse with the top story starting to cave. I admit, it had me a little nervous.
