From my first 4 rolls that I developed at home with C41 processing. Marks on some are there because I need to invest in photoflo (stabilizer is drying on the negs). Some colors are a little bit off, but ultimately came out much better than I thought they would! Advice from anyone that has experience developing themselves would be appreciated. Taken with Ektar 100, Porta 400, and Ilford 400 Super (C41 processing).

wow.... I actually love the colors in these. So rich yet natural looking. I don't know anything about film, but they are great photos.

Nice work. I do all my own C-41 at home, using Kodak chemicals and a Phototherm SSK-4. Stabilizer includes Photoflo in it, so you shouldn't need to add it afterwards. It will dry with spots on if you don't squeegee the negs after taking them out. I just use two fingers, and squeegee the roll that way. Obviously need clean hands to do it... but it works fine. Otherwise, a damp photo sponge should work ok. go light with the pressure, they don't have to be squeezed dry, just the bulk of the Stab. has to come off.

Congrats on doing your own C41, most people are afraid to tackle that sort of thing. Do your own RA4 if you can. Optical prints are so much better than any scan->print workflow, I find.

Thanks for the positive feedback! C41 really is not as hard as people make it out to be.

PowSkierNH, I'll have to try cleaning it with two (clean) fingers next time, thanks for the tip! I would do RA4, but I'm a college student who's doing this stuff for fun, so I don't have the money for the set up. Hopefully sometime in the future though I'll make it work

Black and white is fun, and you don't have to worry about temperatures. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about it!

#7 Is a section of Atlanta's public transit (Marta) that was built but never used. Now it's overgrown and a popular hangout for graffiti artists.

Nice work man. I've wanted to do C-41 but I just don't shot enough, or shoot it often enough for it to be worth it. Looks like a lot of fun though.

Always interesting to see the tones and hues that the film and then processing bring out... I've been thinking of shooting film again (haven't in ages), but I'll probably still send my negs out for processing if I do haha. Look forward to seeing more of yours.

Oelky , keep up the good work. Hopefully you can try RA4 printing sometime. It's really a superb way to print if you get the chance. You can do it with color filters in a regular black-and-white enlarger (with a condenser or cold-light head). I used to use a Beseler 23C with 6x6" above-the-lens filters before I got a 4x5 enlarger and color head. Processing was in cibachrome drums, with a roller base and a tempering unit. Overall cost was not bad, and that was back in the 90s even when this stuff had actual value (pre-digital). I still have all that but use Fujimoto tabletop processors now for RA4.

Fantastic work! way better than my first try at Colour Developing at home. As for colour shifts, check your temperatures, colour is a bit more finicky than B&W.

Also Ektar and Portra will never let you down! What camera were you using?

I really love the shallow focus of #6, it uses the fairly empty space of the floor well. I wanna start shooting film again, but ive been too lazy..

Axle, I was using a Nikon N90. And yes, Portra and Ektar are the best.
