So I've recently been following this kid from NYC (literally, he's 17 I think) on Instagram and he posts some incredible shots. He posted this video on his website and I think it's fucking sick. Check it out!!

Also while you're at it check out http://www.instagram.com/demidism
He's another kid from New York that just got arrested for climbing the tallest residential building in NYC and his work makes my jaw drop

Sigh. These idiots are why the NYC stuff is ruined now. Talking to the media about how you climbed a bridge in NYC and saying you do it all the time is pure stupidity. Also trying to get articles published how you climbed the tallest residential building in NYC is smart. NYC is trying to pass new laws regarding this. Also put up new gates and cameras everywhere. So thank you. They wanted to be famous? Well they are, they ruined NYC exploring.

These Kids ruined NYC and their "work" Isn't impressive at all any jerkoff can take photos from active rooftops in the city and then process them with Vsocam filters on lightroom ( demid told me thats exactly what he does ) not impressed all those insta-explorers shit looks the same.

I agree. If you look at these Instagram feeds, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between their photo's. Once you've seen one of theirs feed's, you've seem them all. They explore for attention. Not only that, but they're complete cunts about it. Then everybody goes on their Instagram feed and starts sucking their cocks, commenting on how "awesome" and "unique" their work is. NY is just the beginning, pretty soon these assholes will be in every city in America.

The video is well put together, no doubt. I won't argue with the comments made about these guys work all looking the same, and I certainly won't argue that they are making it harder for those who explore for reasons other than attention.

But the over-riding issue with me, and I'm going to sound like a "wet blanket party pooper old fogie - add whatever adjectives you want", but I'm gonna say it anyway, is safety.

What really concerns me about this is that I'm seeing new ones every week now on various websites, mostly YouTube. These young people (mostly young) who are sitting on the side of tall structures, walking on ledges hundreds of feet in the air, etc., are taking risks they don't even comprehend. It scares the hell out of me because I know without any doubt, that it's going to happen. In fact it already has a couple of times.

One slip and your done. That's it. No broken leg because you fell 13 feet, no busted camera, just lights out that's it. I know I'll take some flak about saying this but that's ok. I've said it in other parts of the forum as well. I just hate to see these guys and girls end up dead because they were trying to push the limit of the last video they saw on interwebz. They are risking their lives for the sake of a viral video.

I will say that even though the photo styles all look similar, I do like their photos in most cases. What I don't like is the so called "exploring" side of it. Their methods and motives are questionable.

Yeah they're definitely idiots when it comes to talking to the media about their techniques... However I do appreciate the final product. I think people just need to be more discrete when it comes to publishing photos of illegal activities online. For example Demidism and night.shift just got arrested because they posted photos of them trespassing at NYC's tallest residential building (it's still under construction). At the very least they could have waited a few months to post the photos but they also fucked up by name dropping the building

Eh. You don't really have to wait. Just don't go parading it all over and try to get the media to pick it up. Myself, along with many friends have climbed multiple things around NYC and haven't had nearly as much trouble these kids are having.
