I'm going to Manila, Philippines tomorrow, October 15. I'll have 2 days to just roam around the city. Is it a long shot to ask if there is anything worth checking out?

I encountered some of them 2 months ago in Cambodia when I just strolled by and 1 of them grabbed me by the balls and said "boom boom 10 dollah now!"

In a situation like that, you don't just start walking. You go into stealth mode.

Manila is AWESOME!

A few things to be aware of:

- Security has guns. Real ones, and they *will* fucking shoot you.
- Don't trust anyone in the areas you urbex at
- Don't go alone. Ever.
- Wanna see the city but wanna do it cheap? Ride the jeepney!

Those construction sites in Makati might look empty and worthy of an explore, but understand that because of the low wages and expense of transit, a lot of construction workers will just live there until the job is done.

Squatting is ubiquitous. If you're white, you'll be targeted like crazy.

Check out the port west-ish of Intramuros - that place is cool, and all kinds of shit in the market there.

While I was there I stayed in Ermita, and it was really... well, worlds collide there.

I kind of hated my time in the Philippines, EXCEPT for Manila. That place is bomb!

OH and if you're into the LGBTQ+ scene, Ermita's where it's at.

This is my 4th visit to Philippines, but I haven't been exploring. I'm aware of the pickpockets, but they haven't tried me yet. They did try that in Hong Kong, and I caught them in the act. I'll check out the port.

So far, Georgetown, Malaysia is my favourite place to explore. I found only 1 abandoned building- an old Chinese Christian School For Boys. Half of Georgetown is a World Heritage Site, and all the buildings are seriously decayed. You can get a map to guide you on a quest to find all the street art, which is a must see. After a good day of walking around, looking at street art and crumbling houses, get food in Little India, then some Chinese street food, and end the day by getting drunk at a dirty little reggae bar.
