Buffalo Bill's House

Freedom from labor and budget appear to be in sight, but for the last month my only fresh air has been the drive to and from work. On this route I see many obscure things, but this house has always caught my eyes and starred me down with its overwhelming and inviting windows. After several weeks the effect had only become worse and I felt compelled to find what was behind that glass. Now I can't take my eyes off of it because I know what strange things are inside.

Really Like your B&W's! but, that one room with the spotted paint job...must of been some kind of faux painting...Looks Hideous! What color what that?
The basement shot is really cool. Bet there was all kinds of goodies down there! Got any more pics?

This makes this Silence of the Lambs fan happy. This is gorgeous, thanks for sharing. This place seems to hold a lot of treasures. I hope you tell us more about this trip.

Thanks! I only started to understand black and white photography earlier this year so I'm pleased it's working. That room was a horrendous dark purple, I almost wonder if that's why they abandoned the place. I suppose if you were color blind it would be a badass bedroom, b&w looks pretty cool lol. Aside from the clothing the basement was rather empty unless you consider disheveled garbage and broken furniture content. I certainly was not expecting a wardrobe propped beneath the hole in the hallway!

As for more photos, nothing that reached editing, I've become more minimalist over time in the visual storytelling. Seems to invoke more emotion lol

Thanks as always, Dustin. Soon I might explore further than ten miles from my home, I'm not used to having to cover such ground to find abandonments. Back home you could throw a stone and hit a vacant building, here you throw a stone and just hit more stones.

I'm glad others were able to get that same vibe! I didn't really make the connection until I found the basement, which really blew my mind. It must have been the combination of the clothing with the way the rooms connected in sort of a labyrinth fashion, instantly I thought of Buffalo Bill's basement.

Aside from that I'm afraid there's not much else to tell, I just sort of walked in and walked out and the photos cover everything lol

Thanks much! I thought it was so cool to see a big sink full of dishes and all the food gone, that's totally what I'd do if I were abandoning my house too haha.

All I can say is thank you, just thank you Weirdlig. It is comforting to know that there are others somewhere out there who get that same feeling. Its compulsive and can not be resisted, like the itch that must be scratched. Lovely shots.
