I'm normally pretty quiet, but I thought I may as well quit lurking for a moment and make my presence known. My name is Adryrn, I'm 23, and I've been exploring for over a year now. I'm from Minneapolis and can mostly be found in that region, but I also enjoy traveling and can be found in St. Louis, Chicago, and other cities from time to time.

My first encounter with abandoned structures was the Pillsbury A Mill when it wasn't being converted into apartments--I had no idea what it was, nor did I find a way in, but I found it intriguing and liked hanging around it nonetheless. The first abandoned buildings I actually entered were in the Beelitz-Heilstätten hospital complex near Berlin when I was studying abroad, and this spring I began poking around some of the abandoned grain elevators in Minneapolis. I'm attaching some of the photos I've taken while exploring.

Welcome!
You may want to consider removing the name of the hospital. Although i'm not familiar with that particular location (well, i am now..), it's typically frowned upon to post actual names, coords., identifying photos, etc.

@Dukarc and leilativwz--Hi! And thanks =].

@relik--Thanks! I'm aware that it's generally a bad idea to post identifying information, but the Beelitz-Heilstätten buildings are already pretty thoroughly exposed on the internet/well-known in Europe, so I figured they'd be an exception (though if I hear from any Berlin people I'll remove the name from both posts.) Thanks for letting me know, though.

When i originally posted, i didn't realize it was in Germany. I assumed it was near MSP, even though the name sounded non-American. Heh. I didn't bother fixing it.
That place looks pretty fantastic, though! Beautiful architecture!

It was 8D. I wish I'd spent more time there and will definitely have to go back if I ever find myself near Berlin again (I checked the world forum and hmltnangel got some fantastic pictures of it/into buildings I didn't get into.)

(Edited for spelling error.)

Hello there!
Those sites would make excellent locations for low budget/indie filming. Thanks for sharing!

@GLP--You're welcome =].

@JohnInMi--Hi! And indeed o__o. I actually did a cosplay photoshoot at one of the grain elevators (with a person I trust/for anyone concerned by this, no, I will not be revealing the specific location on cosplay websites or any other publicly viewable pages.)

Thanks! It was fascinating, and I didn't even see all of it because it was so huge.
