The Reign of the 12 Monkeys

I headed out on a dreary night to check out a local regional centre. Upon my arrival it was raining pretty heavy, I forgot my mem card for the dslr and most importantly, the site was still powered on, locked up and had security. As I drove home, disappointed that I had forgotten my cf card I drove by a spot I had been eyeing for awhile and noticing a way in, stopped to scope it out. Sure enough, getting in was no issue so I flew home, grabbed the cf card and headed back up to get a Hollywood north fix.

When I arrived it was still raining...*shakes fist* and I noticed people milling about. I grabbed the dslr and walked past the gate and then by the first of two people, who didn't even bat an eye. As I delved further on to the property I passed a few more people with one offering a friendly hello. Obviously these were not the security personnel for the place.

The first set I came upon was for the tv series Reign. Pretty simple, not too much going on so grabbed a few shots in the rain before heading inside to see what else was around.

Once I managed to sneak inside, I was welcomed to the set of 12 Monkeys (the tv show, due out in 2015 I believe) Pretty large set, lots to see, I set up my tripod to get the first shot, when of course, in walks a few crew members. I was out of sight luckily but decided it would be best to hand hold everything and jack up the ISO. Spent awhile checking the set out, grabbing shots and avoiding the random crew members milling about before slipping back out in to the dark and rainy night for home.

On to the pics!

Wow. And you don't work for the marketing team?... You could. Now, I'm gonna watch this show only because of your post.

I first looked at the pictures without reading your description, and just asked myself "What the hell is this place supposed to be?" :p But this is very good!

Damn that is sweet! I'm a huge fan of The 12 Monkeys. I must have seen it three or four times in the theatre when it came out. Seriously cool find!

Really cool stuff!! No abandoned sets to explore out here in NY that's for sure! My friend grew up in the LA area. Him and his buddies would go off roading on the old fireroads and through the desert. They would find random abandoned sets all the time. They even found the set for Dukes of Hazard not long after the show edned. They had a whole line of General Lees still parked out there.

Thanks all! Was a great little explore, nothing like that fear of being caught to make things just that more fun.

Super awesome. I feel like I might have known they were making a 12 Monkeys TV show but I've definitely forgotten. Even more excited to see it now, and glad I can vicariously experience your intrepidness!
