Had an update on the house in the OP, went back today to take a few pictures. Discovered the front door had been forced open by somebody. It was halfway open with the doorknob popped out. I poked my head inside and heard a low volume buzzing. Not sure what it was but it could be an alarm. I didn't stick around to find out.

I'm going to revisit in a few days to see if it is still open. That will tell me if an alarm company is actively monitoring it.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of there was a backhoe or something parked up along the driveway on Thursday

Had a couple of visits to a large Methodist Church about an hour away from me now - first time we visited it was sealed up totally, no way in at all so left. Yesterday we turn up on a day it looks like half the town is having a garage sale on the streets and outside their houses so there were masses more people milling around than before, but we strode purposely to where we needed to be...no luck. Looking closer though I spotted the possible access, high up off the ground and with a tight squeeze behind it to actually get in. There were only three loose bricks on the ground to use as a boost up, and as I'm not the most agile or flexible guy I just couldn't make it in - and my companion, being a girl was naturally limited by body features meaning even if she could get through the window she wouldn't have been able to squeeze in.....but I will go back next time with a plan and a leg-up!

Yup, that is exactly it! Any information you know on what might be going on?

If you look carefully on this streetview you can see a space of 1m between the old and new bridge. It's to the right of the walkway. In theory you could try getting there with an inflatable boat of some rope setup. And once inside this space there is a walkway going up towards the road. Have been there many times thinking and planning. Never did it.

There was once a super rad-looking water treatment plant here in my city of residence. It was actually the original one for the city. I always wanted to get in, but there was absolutely no way; cemented windows, doors welded shut, etc.

One day, someone said they were tearing it down. Sure enough. Christmas Eve at midnight was a fantastic time that particular year. Best Christmas yet.

CHECK IT OUT!

Found that out today haha.

For one the construction vehicle is gone. And I decided seeing the door still open to check out the inside. Sure enough the security system panels were totally off.

There's this beautiful old restaurant in my town. It's been abandoned for many years. I remember eating there when I was a kid. It situated right on the main drag of town, on one of the busiest intersections in town. It is so well locked up it's ridiculous. There's motion lights that are super bright, all the doors are locked up and sealed, all the windows are locked up and sealed as well. It's about a block from the cop shop. They are always driving by it. Moral of the story is, I can't get in, and it saddens me.

There's an old abandoned house near me where Ted Bundy supposedly lived. Ive been on and around the property many times, but never gotten inside. A glance in the windows revealed the its filled wall to wall with junk: books, tables, shelves, a sewing machine, bottles...etc. I'm pretty sure there's a caretaker who watches over the place at night. But I'm curious who owns it and why, there's no for sale signs around the place. The building is intact but it is weathered and obviously abandoned. All entrances are locked up tight...

And just to make it that much more annoying, the locals are liable to call you in to the property owner if they don't recognize you. Doubly show if you have camera gear.

Found that one out the hard way on a failed attempt.

Weird, when I went there was a guy walking a dog on the grounds.. Nobody else though. We even parked in the nearby neighborhood.

I can see why they'd do that though, probably got that assholes number on speed dial.

Any idea why security is that beefed up there?

Pre-dawning it wouldn't help with the WELDED doors and the super high walls with barbed wire on the top... But I welcome you to come up here and try it yourself. It is a prison, they were built to prevent break-outs, that says nothing about break-ins though...

That prison is very tough to crack, it can be done, but you need proper planning and preparation. The locals will call you in and the woman responsible for the property is kind of a bitch and more than willing to call the opp.
