I found this interesting...

https://www.youtub...atch?v=bm1AjFVATJU

First couple minutes suck - because of air noise on his flip phone...
- but if you can get past that... it gets clearer.

You can try to follow his direction using Google Maps...
- but it's a little difficult as most of the land markers are already gone.

Video is dated 8/28/2010... Google map date is around 6/2014.

If interested... you can start here

213 South Connell Street, Picher, OK (that's where he mentions Main Street and the Fire Department + ATM)

If you turn left onto Carl Patterson and turn around... you might catch an image of the ATM he drives - image is gone when viewing from Connell St... could only find it from Carl Patterson.

Further down Carl Patterson appears to be park... with a large Gorilla statue still there.

Back on North Connell... he passes the water tower on the right

and turns left around 128 N Connell St...
- which will take you down to the high school (which seems to be partially there)

Pretty interesting story, I checked the town out on google maps. On streetview, they have 2008 and 2014 imagery you can switch between to see a before/after. Looks like most of the buildings are demolished by now though.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

Picher is pretty cool I guess, but other than the chat piles there isn't much left to see. The few people that do still live there will call the cops on you btw. Trust me.

It's definitely a sight to see, but as far as exploring goes.. not much going on there.

It's a shame most of it is demolished now. Looked like an awesome place to see.
