They always go overboard. Great excuse for the parks and maintenance to get more funding by city council to search and seal... Again.

That particular hole has been open for years. It's a pretty shit cave filled with rebar and rubble from a city dumping operation (I think the EPA has it listed somewhere as an illegal dump). I'm kinda surprised they haven't sealed it yet.

Not sure how they can go overboard, really. They'll probably plug the hole with concrete, like they did to everything else. And then kids will either go dig out one of the lower-level entrances, create a new one, or find the manhole cover in the ceiling and get in that way, because that's what they do...

Two young teenage girls (13 or 14 IIRC) got trapped in a grain silo near me. On a cold cold February day to boot. Apparently they got trapped on a mid level floor, not sure how they even got up there since to my knowledge the stairs are removed in all those silos. Due to two young boys falling from the roof of one of them back in the 70s and dying.

Must be related to boy genius, crazy that his 'friends' just left him.

I just saw this on the news. I cannot believe his "friends" left him there and he had to text someone else for help. What the fuck is wrong with people?!

From my understanding his friends left when he was climbing the shaft and then he fell.. how did he not just climb back up?

Haha exactly. He had two lighters. That's more than enough to see your way up a 'staircase'. Good thing he almost committed suicide with them instead.

Wasn't a staircase, was that straight vertical ventilation shaft.

Both modes involve peeing. The difference is in survival mode you have the foresight to save your pee for hydration. In a dangerous situation it is never too early to start saving pee.
