I decided to take a trip to meet up with Chuck_Ingalls and see some of what his city has to offer. It was a splendid day!
1. First we set out to a low-key farmstead to prepare ourselves for the locations to come.. Here's a shot of me "parked out front." I paid $600 for this rusty beast. I cannot wait to get rid of it. Also, you can probably make out my license plate, as i forgot to edit that out, but oh well, i really don't care.
2. There was some junk in the buildings,
3. and a sweet old typewriter in the yard.
4. Next we decided to hit up
Wells Manufacturing, a plant being converted into low income housing. On the way to the P.O.E., we accidentally startled an old, naked man, sunbathing by the river. It was awkward on both our ends. We shall refer to him as Greybush.
5. The place was already gutted and blah-like, so there wasn't much to shoot. This room was the only spot i decided to grab a couple shots.
6. Next on our adventure was
a giant farmstead with a few hidden treasures. This is the main house, which was pretty rad.
7. This was the guest house out back.
8. This was in the barn!
9. So was this!
10. Sexy.
11. Ass to ass.
12. Next up, a pretty awesome place we shall call
"House of Nuns." 13. Chapel, from the outside.
14. I thoroughly enjoyed this location.
15. Chapel, on the inside. Clean, eh?
16. ...
17. A bible.
18. Some lady of religious importance.
19. Little vandal kids haven't found this spot, fortunately.
20. There is noticeable decay in several spots in the building(s), but all-in-all, it sits pretty clean.
21. Lastly, the holy grail, "The Castle."
22. Some peely paint, full of lead and deliciousness.
23. Cool old sink in the basement.
24. This place is super rad and historic, but unfortunately, dumb kids have recently found it to be abandoned and broken in a few times, even after it being sealed and being caught and arrested for vandalism. The absolute worst graffiti has recently been added to the beautiful woodwork inside (seriously, it's just squiggly lines and random words, barely legible.) I didn't bother taking any photos because i was too upset. They even spray-painted a line over all the books in the library! Ugh.
25. Chuck, takin' a shot.
26. We've even decided to take it upon ourselves to seal it up best we can, put up fake security cameras and keep a close eye. Apparently the owners live in another country and have no plans for it, therefor it doesn't get looked after well, what-so-ever.
27. One of many fireplaces.
It was definitely a fantastic day, well worth the trip. I do plan to make a return trip to hit up the last two spots and secure "The Castle." The history needs to be protected.
Thanks for looking!
Full set can be seen
here, if you so desire. (There's actually only like 3 additional shots, so there's really no point of checking out the full set. Just sayin'.)
