Partially demolished factory

Built in 1902, this now-abandoned factory complex made office furniture until its closure in 1989. Since then, the complex has been partially razed, leaving several structures half-demolished and pieces of debris strewn around the property. At the south end of the property is something that looks like a dump operation. On the gate outside is a no trespassing sign with a phone number and hours of operation. Not knowing this, I arrived about fifteen minutes after they closed for the day. There wasn't much left of the smaller structures at the north end of the property so I primarily spent my time in the large four-story factory where I found some interesting items including old rusting machines.
1. The main factory building is laid out in U shape with what had been one of the smaller structures between the two wings.

2. The view from one of the partially demolished one-story structures.

3. On the first floor of the factory were many bricks that were probably tossed around during the demolition.

4. Most of the southern portion of the building looked like this on all four floors.

5. Bathroom stalls just opened up onto the factory floor.

6. One of the three or four freight elevators in the building.

7. Detention!

8. Somebody was partying on the second floor.

9. Several order inventories were still lying around. Edited out is the address of the building.

10. Old rusting machines left behind.

11. A moss carpet grew on the floor near the windows up the upper stories.

12. A sliding door between two parts of the factory was covered in stencil graffiti.

13. The top floor had the most machinery remaining.

14.

15. Old binders that looked kind of nasty.

16. On the roof was this strange boardwalk-type thing.

17. View from the top.

18.

Cool spot. I love the contrast in shots 11 and 15, with the moss.

Out of curiosity . what were you shooting with?

Thanks! I was shooting with a Sanyo VPC-T700 and a cheap tripod I got from Walmart.

Warnings about friends from stencil graffiti on abandoned factory walls is always good advice.
