I'm a big fan of power stations, turbines, boiler houses and other such sources of energy for buildings, here is a little selection of various examples I have seen on my travels over the years.

Absolutely mind blowing places! The pictures with pipes everywhere are my favourites. Can I offer one tiny advice, even if we're not in the /criticism forum? Your lines are often just a tiny, tiny bit off the axis and there's a bit of lens distortion here and there. When / if you run your pictures through lightroom, check out the lens correction menu.

Yeah I can blame my tripod for the first one, it's been quite abused, and also doesn't have a spirit level (thanks Manfrotto) so isn't as tight as it once was!

The distortion is from the Sigma 10-20 I use, I don't tend to use Lightroom much at all (no time to spend ages fiddling really) but it's worth looking into

That's a killer lens, I've wanted to buy one in forever, if only I had the cash. I know what you mean about using lightroom, I enjoy the post-production but many don't. You should try saving a few presets, it saves a lot of time if you're not willing to fiddle around every time. The lens correction menu, however, is practically automatic, so it really is worth it to look into it.

Wow, this place is epic in so many ways. Looks like there is a lot to see here. I really wish the Power Plant here was a bit larger.....and nuclear.

It rarely leaves my camera when out on an explore, the Sigma 10-20 f3.5 like I've got is more expensive than the f4-5.6 as it is more rugged and built better, but definitely worth the money!

This is a lot of different ones ;)

How I wish it was one massive one though!

And what's your box? Is it a full frame?

Canon 550D, the Sigma 10-20 is designed for APS-C sensors so will get bad vignetting on a full frame. Just one of the reasons I've not felt the need to upgrade yet!

Wow, nice set! I can't put a finger on exactly why I like the power stations, but there is something in the symmetry of the plumbing that is pleasing to my eyes. Having an appreciation of engineering design makes it all work for me.

Thanks for sharing!
