This is a very ancient building (the first part was built around 1500 AD) which was used, in the last years before being abandoned, as a hospice for elder people.

The age and decay gives the ceiling in pic #6 some amazing highlights and depth.

No: in Rome we do not have abandoned places at all.
It's a big town and if a place is abandoned, or is sealed or is full of gypsies living inside.
