Only once, and it was the same place I talked about in this (http://www.uer.ca/...rrpage=3&pp#post40) post, but a different building.

The military school sits in a small town in the middle of the state, but in a nice area. It's one of those towns where vandalism isn't necessarily the norm, which is great for exploring but bad for when you have a strange gut feeling. There was a dormitory, an active building being used for a community college, and a medical building that was apparently facing demolition.

We climb through a window to get inside the medical building and almost immediately the place just felt off. It was so weird. I never have problems walking away from my group for a few minutes to look around, but the vibe of this place was absurdly off-putting. I really don't know how to describe it accurately. All I knew was that I stayed right next to everyone and never made my own path.

It was pitch black the entire time and we had to use our flashlights sparingly due to the community around the building. There were multiple times I could have sworn there were like 1,000 eyes watching us. Only one of my friends there agreed the place felt incredibly weird and it was because of us that we actually managed to hurry the explore and get out of there. That was the first and only explore where I've wanted to leave as soon as I got in. All things considered, I'd say it was like we were not welcomed by whatever it was even though nothing ever happened.

I've had a few experiences where I've felt that something was very wrong with an area, but I don't think anything supernatural was involved.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the subconscious minds often picks up on things that the conscious mind doesn't always notice, and those signals often manifest themselves through a "gut feeling" or "hunch." I usually use the following thought process to make sense of the situation:

Stop what you're doing. Carefully examine your surroundings, your knowledge, and your situation from a standpoint of pure, unemotional logic. Compare that examination to your gut feeling. If they don't match up, start to try and figure out what it is that makes you uneasy. Find a conclusion and act on it.

I usually find that I am letting my nerves get the best of me in such situations, although that is not always the case. For me, narrowing down what could be making me uneasy helps to stop that feeling. It's easier to not be afraid of the unknown if you consciously and rationally understand it.

Basically, this whole long process is a way to use rationality and logic to defeat irrational fear. However, if I can't find an explanation and don't think it's my nerves, I've left locations before based on that. Sometimes when your instincts scream "danger," they're being rational- just because you can't see the threat doesn't mean it's not there.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

I've had some sixth sense type stuff happen on explorations. Once before leaving my car for a place I had this vision of me losing my keys and having to return to the hospital to find them. Later when we returned to the car I couldn't find my damn keys! Took a few minutes but I finally did. Was kinda funny, but I do get that not alone feeling sometimes.
