Unfortunately I couldn't get a good pic of it myself, but this is probably one of the better known ones. I've heard the chunk that's missing is on display at a nearby museum.

Here's a few more from the real depths of my back catalogue, the staff creche at the now converted/demolished West Park Asylum from way back in 2009. Often incorrectly labelled a childrens ward, an original ward building was repurposed to provide accommodation and day care for the children of staff members. After the site closed in stages up to 2003, the original isolation hospital building was turned into a new nursery/day care centre for children of the staff working in the parts which are still in use today.
It took me three trips to find the right building but it was the first place I headed every trip after that. Cartoon characters, animals and circus imagery adorned most of the walls, and piles of toys and cots left over made the building an exceptional one even by the incredible standard of West Park as an abandonment.
This was in a staircase leading off from the creche area, although it's unconnected.
West Park was also home to the 'art therapy' room, which had been decorated probably for some silly student project/music video some time after closure.

You sure found the "right building" Mookster! Thanks for clarifying that the kids who enjoyed these murals were healthy. As a father of two, I find it hard work to cope with scenarios of sick kids - even though logic would say that if this were a kids' ward, the murals would have been very beneficial.

Posted by HipsterKitty This was under a bridge on a go kart track near my house: The second time I visited, it was covered by ugly skill-free tags, even though there were plenty of blank walls around... Some people.
Don't start me on taggers, lol. That's a cool piece of art - cheers!

I can't believe I forgot these in my original post but anyways... This is a good/old one by El Kamino. I believe it took him 3 days to paint it. It's faded a lot now but watch the video and you'll see what it originally looked like

While not as beautiful as many, here is a small simple one I encountered in the Parisian catacombs.
The room it was in I have heard called "la salle de la musique" (room of music) nowadays.
I used to know it under the "Salle du Générateur" (generators' room) since it used to house a backup generator for a hospital, since then replaced by a smaller and more efficient one. For a scale perspective, the mural is about one storey high, and the room could have been double, maybe triple that.
