On an afternoon drive, we found this.

Cruising north, with no plans for exploration, we rounded the curve looking for our next turn. As our directional heading shifted, so did the view. Getting closer, I said to my buddy, "dude...Dude...DUDE!"

I had been hoping to include him, and he has been expressing interest, in joining me on an exploration but it was absolutely not on the agenda for this adventure. His eyes lit up, "Well, look at this!!" as he proceeded to pull over.

We commenced with the most basic of basic explorations at a location some might not even stop for anymore. Had we been looking for a spot, this may have been a slight disappointment. However, in the spontaneity of the find, it became an added bonus to the trip we were already on. It really wasn't much but, in the context of our day, we had a blast. It really piqued my buddy's interest in exploring and that's a success for me (even though it's just a house and a barn).

I would totally stop for this. Some people on this site think houses and barns aren't worth exploring, but I am not one of those people. Old farms are my favorite. Great find! I love the awful wallpaper in #5...it looks like trunkless palm trees or troll doll wigs. :p

Thanks a bunch for the kind words. I like your commentary on the wallpaper.

I love old farms.

I'm starting to think I do too. Really, I just like old anything. If it happens to be a barn or farm, I'll be liking it. I recently found a farm like none I've ever been in (or, after research, more likely a support operation for the monumental farm right next to it). Thanks for sharing the pics.

This was actually one of my very first explores. Looks the same as it did years ago, oddly enough. Most likely because it's been that trashed for quite a while.
I'm diggin' this set, by the way! Especially the first couple shots!

I always stop for old farmhouses. They might be a basic explore but I always enjoy wandering around them. Nice set.

Awesome! I knew you'd know the spot. After getting home and looking at it on the map, I figured it had to be right up the road from you. At the least, I'm glad it hasn't gotten any worse. Since you found it so long ago, I'm kind of surprised that it's still there. Also, thanks a whole lot for the compliment. My reliable camera was very low quality but it was dependable. I usually opted for that one even though it made shit photos. Well, it has since gone to shit for good. So, lately, I've been resorting to my old broken camera which was actually pretty nice at one point in time and had a lot of functions. I tossed it aside a while ago due to a broken zoom and crazy focus problems. Now, that I've had to fall back on it again, however, I'm figuring out ways to work around its issues. And, I'm finally starting to learn how to use the easy editing software that it came with. I'm starting to like the look of my photos. But, in reality, I have no idea what I'm doing with a camera or how to touch them up properly. So, I'm really glad to hear that someone digs this.

Also, just an F.Y.I., apparently the owner will press charges if he catches you on the property. A buddy received his one and only trespassing ticket here, years ago.

Here's a link to the DB (Full members only, though): http://www.uer.ca/...ow.asp?locid=29774

I'm glad we avoided all that. I didn't plan on going back anyway. Sucks that I can't see that link.
