So I am in love with this spot..

Please tell me your thoughts on these shots.
These are from two separate trips. The second of which, I had a decent tripod for the first time (finally).

In particular, I am wondering which shot of the corridor is better, the horizontal or vertical shot...otherwise general critique of the rest is welcome.

Hi! I really love these photos, especially the last set with the sepia tone. Without getting into nitpicking, I can't find a single thing wrong with any of the photos in that set.

The first critique that jumped to mind with the full color photos was that the sixth photo, the one of the yellow pipes, could have been improved if you were to have more perfectly centered yourself in front of the pipes. I'm not sure if the asymmetry was intentional, like if there was something to the left of the pipes that you didn't want in the photo, but I just keep wanting to move the whole thing over slightly to the right.

I LOVE the fourth photo of the bigger pipe with the wheel and the ladder (I'm sorry, I'm really industrially/infrastructuraly challenged and have no idea what that actually is), particularly how it looks like a snail! I get the impression that your back was already against a wall here, but if it were physically possible I would say it would be great if you could have moved back a bit more, or zoomed out or used a wider lens as to avoid cutting off the edges of the subject matter in the photo.

The third photo, of the darker set of pipes, looks like it might be ever so lightly out of focus, but I may be wrong.

Lastly, I think it would have been great if you increased the color saturation for all of the first eight photos (except maybe #5). I feel like maybe they could use some more intensity.

The second set, I had access to a tripod for the first time, so that may explain why they came out much better, I was also a bit more familiar with the area at that point.

In the second set, with that shot of the hall, which do you like better the vertical or horizontal shot?

I eventually want to do some prints, and want to see other peoples opinions on certain photos so I can choose which ones to print...

I like the fact that the vertical one shows the stain on the ceiling, and overall has a nice depth, but I also like that the horizontal shot shows the closest pillars, letting you focus on the numbers as they continue onward..

If u would ask me. and u do this. I'll tell u that I like most the following tree photographs:



First two are really great the second is interesting for me. The other photographs has nothing really special to me.

Regarding the "corridor pictures", I would say the horizontal one is the best. There is, however, something bugging me about it. Is it well centered? Perhaps the lens distortion is weirding me out, I can't say to be honest. It's still good, but try cropping just a tad and see what happens.

Also, I feel like a broken record for saying this again, but your whites are blown. For the corridor picture it doesn't matter too much, I'd say it gives it a certain style, but it goes for all of your other pictures too. You said you didn't have a decent tripod, so it's understandable, but try and watch that in the future, you're on the good path.

Wow! Overall I think all the pics are excellent and you really captured the magnificent size of this elevator. Great job! I think if I were to do anything different it would be the wheel picture. Maybe try and get the whole wheel in it instead of it being cut off on top and bottom.

Horizontal hall shot shows the sense of scale better than the vertical.
