A little back-story for those interested:

Also known as Syggros Forest, took its name from its most known owner, a Greek banker, Andreas Syggros (1830-1899). After the death of his wife , it was passed on to the Hellenic Agricultural Company in 1921, as instructed in her will.

Most buildings in the area are still functional and in use (as middle school, high school, scout base camp, agricultural seminars are being held etc.)
But due to its vast extent (1100 square meters) and other factors, some buildings were left to fall to ruin.

Sidenote: I have never owned a camera (I still don't) and happened to come upon one for a few days, so I took the opportunity.

#10 and #41 were taken by a friend.
Enjoy.

I enjoyed your series. I firmly believe that Greece, especially Athens & Thessaloniki, are untapped areas for urbex photography. Many Greeks post such photos from the outside of buildings but rarely the inside. I would love to encourage young Greek photographers to start exploring!
People want to visit Greece for the islands but I'm dying to go again just to see all the abandoned structures!! Afterall the Akropolis is one of the first ruinporn sites
And you can buy a Nikon D90 as your first camera. It's a little older but still well respected. You should be able to get it cheaply there as people are desperate for cash! Keep shooting!

Thanks for the comment. Indeed, most of the people here, adventurous enough to enter these places are not into urbex sadly and mostly thrash the places even more. Judging by the name you have Greek roots yourself I take it?
As for the camera it's a bit out of my budget for now, but I will get around it eventually.

It is Especially at a peaceful night with a moon, the windows in the basketball court make it pretty unique.
