My friends and I were here a while ago, on one of my first explores.
Any recommendations on adventures like these?

Your photo should provide enough suggestions to keep you busy for a while

If you already have a tripod, your next purchase should be one of these:

All you need for heights is a camera and a solid pair of balls.

Fire escapes on old buildings are a hoot. Good place to start too. I do that often here. I like the act of climbing ladders though. Cranes are similar though. Just do it.

I agree with Puddlejumper. I am just beginning to do rooftops myself, and so far my main method has been simply to jump and catch the bottom rungs of fire escapes. Here in Seattle, the city inspects fire escapes, and many of them will have cards hanging on them that document their last inspections, which helps to ease my fears about them collapsing beneath my feet. So far there have been no problems or incidents.

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire... Tunnelrunner33!

Make sure whatever you climb isn't owned by the government. Other than that, don't get too drunk before you go climbing
