HA! I have 3 sisters, the younger 2 are crazy about me. So you can already tell who the spoiled princesses are ;) The oldest one just cares about boys

Love and cherish your annoying and/or wonderful siblings, people, because they're the ones that are biologically programmed to love you when the world doesn't by no matter what.

I have six brothers and three sisters That's adorable, sounds like you're a great older brother. I wish my brothers treated me like a spoiled princess...just kidding I'd rather be treated like a knight.

Will do! And amen to that! On so many levels.

This thread is seriously making me consider bringing my niece along on my next expedition. She would love the hell out of it, and she's certainly at that age where a little "constructive misbehaviour" would do her some good.

Go for it, Surly! There's nothing quite like family bonding like Urban Exploring. It makes it even more special, I find. I'm glad I can get the family love going on this site!

Actually, I was exploring there a couple months back and - of all days to arrive - there was a fancy white car parked smack dab in the middle of the park. My buddy and I evaded it for the majority of the explore - at least 45 min. - but, on our way out, were highly reprimanded by a woman who had some ownership stake in the place. Maybe just a bizarre happenstance.

That's weird. It seems like each one of us came across different people claiming ownership of the land.

If she's under 18, you can be charged with endangering the welfare of a minor if you're caught trespassing in a dangerous environment.

She's 11. I suppose it depends on the particular jurisdiction's definition of "dangerous". That's a vague term that can be interpreted as loosely and vindictively as a judge likes.

Still, my niece is a real heart-tugger. She could sway a courtroom while holding the murder weapon.

Thanks for the input - I'll keep it in mind.

This thread just made me realize I still haven't processed my photos from this place when I visited Last November....*sigh* I need a personal assistant.
Good light painting location. Most photos I see from this place are fogged in, as was the case when I was there. But it was also November. I think I would like to go back there at night.

Thank you! I say try to, I have no idea how long it will be up for! D: I really hope you guys can make it at some point! Quite a bit, it's still a small town worth of stuff, but some of the rides are gone.

He's a believer. He adored it and wants to go again. My older brother (not pictured) chickened out and waited at the car. He was our watchdog.

You should! I'd love to see them! Haha don't we all? Probably because it was in the winter. I know the mountains tend to be like that from October through February. You should, you'd probably get some really interesting pictures in if you do.

Did I recently see a news story that this property was now in escrow for sale? It went on to say that it could be reopened within a year.

Do you think you can find it and share? I haven't seen anything like that yet. 0: I'd love to read up on that.

I'm not judging either way. That's weird. I'm wondering if the guy I ran into is the person they mentioned who wants to redo it?

Though, I still wonder how they'd fix it up by 2015.

Recently tried going to this place. There were tons of workers taking the place apart so I couldn't sneak in, and I was politely turned away by the supervisor when I tried for official permission. I was referred to the construction company for further inquiries.

It's being turned into a "Skypark" or some such. They were a bit vague on the specifics, but from the gate by the road I could see at least fifteen orange vests walking around the grounds. Seems like they're actually serious about renovating this time.

Shame that it won't be possible to do any more exploration here. Looks like you hit the place just in time, Flashy.

Oh, wow. That's severely shocking. I'm so sorry, I totally didn't expect that. I'm happy I got to go but sad that you couldn't.

Thanks for the update. Sorry you didn't get to see it after making that long drive.

I have a few pictures from my trip earlier this year.
