I have traveled across many sketchy floors. I mean if you see a shot you gotta get it. Don be dumb tho, make sure someone knows what your plan is so if it falls in they know to look for you some where.

Other then that that advice in this thread is solid. Dont underestimate it as getting you out with little equipment can be a bad situation. I carry 100' of rope & a roll of Duct tape when I go on big explores.

Ceilings get the same treatment just you dont walk on them. Look up as you go up the to new floors. You can see if the roof/ceiling is going to come down, the floor is weak ect.

Common sense is key here and it can save you and your friends lives.

Just be smart. You can tell if a floor will hold or not from looking at is almost all the time.

If a piece of floor doesn't look to hot, jump on it with both feet. The impact will cause the attached ends of the boards to tense up, holding the boards together.

Trust me, I'm a scientist.

In places that look sketchy, I usually try to find the support beams (steel I-beams are the best) and just walk along those, and that's only if I really want to cross the area.

Also, has anyone ever had a rusted ladder give out? I've climbed a few, and they all seemed pretty solid, but I'm afraid one day I'll just go-a-tumbling. Any advice on what to look for in a rusted ladder that will not actually hold significant weight?

1.

Work your way from the bottom floor to the top. If you see this in the ceiling...Probably shouldnt go in that room on the next floor... I did but that was my choice.
