I figured people here would find this wide angle view of NK interesting.

Judging by the video from beginning to end, I found the "downtown" layout and architecture pretty bland, only sparsely punctuated by a monolith or skyscraper of remarkable appearance. I'd personally avoid living there. The image quality of this video is excellent in HD, though.

The problem with the video is that it's pointing ahead. If you're looking off to the side you get a much better look at some of their amazing monumental architecture. This video focuses on the streets and you only really see buildings from far in the distance ahead. Lots of missed opportunities.

I would live in Pyongyang if I had the chance. I've known people who have and it's apparently a huge amount of fun for a few months. If the regime collapses stably and opens up, me and a friend are either going to compete or cooperate on opening the city's first punk club.

Yeah, it was expensive but well worth it. I met up with one of the guys who went with me, who more recently was involved in Dennis Rodman's visits. I asked him for a recommendation for the best way to book a trip, and he said I should go directly through him, but asked if we can diversify the group by not having everyone come from South Korea. So, probably sometime next year, I'll be trying to put a group together and will probably be asking around these parts.

It's nice to see all of the bikes everywhere instead of cars. That's about the only nice thing I have to note about the country though.

I could note a few other nice things but they all kind of have a dark side too. They also have a very low carbon footprint due to lack of electricity for their factories. All of their poor air quality can be blamed on China. They also have better beer than the south and weed is legal.
