Since the weather was so nice the other day, I decided to take advantage of it and check out a location I've known about for awhile but hadn't gotten to yet. This is a fairly popular location so I'm sure many NE Ohio explorers will know the place. I counted 9 structures including factories, warehouses and a smokestack. Some of them have been partially demolished before destruction was inexplicably stopped. From the looks of it, a couple structures were demolished completely. I spent a couple of hours wandering around and found some interesting things including old machinery and children's toys strewn around a warehouse.
1. This warehouse was one of the more interesting buildings in the complex. It contained lots of wooden desks, benches and pallets that were either left or dumped there.
2. One of the old work benches inside the warehouse.
3. You can help!
4. This was my favorite picture I took.
5. There was a small office inside the warehouse.
6. All the bathroom fixtures have been destroyed by vandals. Only the stalls and a paper towel dispenser remain.
7. Outside, someone dumped some furniture including an armchair and TV box. There was a couch sitting just outside the frame.
8. There were two one-story factory buildings with saw-toothed roofs. This is the entrance to one of them.
9. There wasn't much inside, but a big chunk of the roof collapsed and was hanging down. Some of it rested on this desk.
10. There was another large 3-story building that looks like a warehouse. It was partially demolished and probably the least entertaining. Someone lowered a ladder down from the first floor to the basement even though both are easily accessible from outside.
11. The most interesting thing in this building was the pulley system used to raise and lower the freight elevator.
12. Inside the second factory building was where a bunch of children's toys had been dumped and scattered around.
13. I'm wondering if somebody got really mad at their kids and discarded all their stuff here.
14. Another building was full of old machines including this one.
15. There was another building that was mostly a shell. The only notable thing inside was this old sign.
There was another small building similar to the one where the old machines were but was less exciting. There was also a smokestack and a wooden building which was basically a pile of sticks. A couple of other foundations and piles of bricks led me to believe that a couple of other buildings once stood there and were completely razed.
