Posted by randomesquephoto The hdr is over the top. And. Go inside.
thanks for the comment. im just experimenting with different post processing techniques, including different levels of HDR. Im always inside and just wanted to shoot from a different perspective (outside) for the day.

usually im not into over-processed photos, but i wanted to try out something a little different, even though i know a lot of people here are not fans of heavy HDR images.

This.
Nice contrast and good composition though, let's see it without the over-processing (from inside).
thanks for the comments.
here's the first photo with less processing. as with all photos, the processing shapes an image into the message that will be conveyed. two different processing techniques of the same photo can easily mean two different messages.

But you will probably find a similar reaction elsewhere. If you posted this in a HDR forum, everyone would applaud it and ask for more.
Me? I hate heavy HDR. I don't even like it in small amounts, unless it is applied very sparingly, and only to certain parts of a photo. That is why I think people are confused about what it ought to be used for. Whatever, though.

thanks for the response. i understand your view completely, and appreciate your comments. it's just sometimes i want to make certain sets of images unreal; almost more of a message based on the scene, rather than documentation of the scene.

No need to apologize. Half these hard ons around here like to tell other people what looks good and what doesn't based off what they like. Ignorance at its finest.
I know you asked for a critique, but no need to ask....they would have told you either way. Some people just cannot help themselves.

Nice compositions. I like the last one the best, but yeah, with less use of HDR, i think i may like it better. Do what you like, though. That's what really counts.
