This drain runs under a railroad about two blocks from my grandma's. I have been playing in here since I was a wee lad. For some reason people in this town think they have spray paint abilities...clearly they are wrong. Also I apologize for the shitty quality of the shots. I'll have my new DSLR friday. I'm stoked beyond all explanation. I also have caught wind of an abandoned mansion where a husband murdered his wife years back. I shall be going there this week sometime I hope.
There is also a hospital here that has been on ghost adventures, and been on unsolved mysteries and the source of many rumors and the site of a kidnapping. I've been in before but didn't have my camera. I'd like to get back in but cops are constantly surveying the area

You're right, I worded that wrong. I don't know why I even put that on here, I was referring to some low quality shots of another set. But you're right, the fiddle don't make the fiddler.

I like the use of printing & cursive in #3 as well as ending the statement with a period.

Congrads on getting your new DSLR

I would have said it a bit differently than randomesquephoto.. but.. different strokes & all...

So.. you bought yourself a new toolbox full of nice new, shiny tools.. Some of which you have never even seen before.. Great!.. But they won't help you if you haven't learned to use the hammer & saw in your old toolbox.. So.. keep practicing with the hammer & saw while you play with the new tools you bought..

Like pic #1. I assume you got some sort of zoom lens with your new cam? Try the same shot at wide & telephoto.. Move in & out with your feet to keep everything in frame.. check out how the perspective changes with zoom settings & elevation.. Hell, take 20-30 pics on that subject at different angles & zoom settings & exposure combinations.. Your camera should record what you did in the EXIF data.. so.. when you get home check out what looks best.. look at what settings you had.. With luck you will get an image or 2 that you really like.. You keep doing that with all your shots and you will learn how to make that great shot happen on purpose..

# 2 & 3.. get closer to your subject! Or at least crop em down.. but first get closer.. We know it's a wall.. You are trying to show what was said.. so.. concentrate on that...

#4 when yer looking though the viewfinder.. don't fixate just on your subject look at what else is in the frame.. Is it lined up? Will it be properly exposed? Ok.. exposing the tunnel opening is beyond the capability of your camera.. No biggie... most cameras won't do it.. So.. what to do? Tripod & multiple images at different exposures? Flash.. to bring the exposure value of the subject up closer to the background? Hell.. try them BOTH..

The point is.. Shoot... shoot.. shoot & shoot some more.. Not a ton of different things.. but a ton of shots of the same thing. Till you start to see & can predict how your shots will look using different settings..

Thanks a million for the advice. Yes you're right I have access to tools that I damn sure didn't before, but I have nothing but time, curiosity and a passion to learn more. I will take all the criticism and advice that comes my way as a chance to learn. So like I said, I appreciate the comment and will continue to try to improve all the time.
