Abandoned elementary school in rural Louisiana that's been closed since 2009. There was some talk of converting it to a juvenile detention center, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Everything that might possibly contain copper has been taken, except for the wires the thieves couldn't reach without a ladder. The whole place is pretty busted up..

Thanks! I wasn't expecting much from this place, but was pleasantly surprised.

Very nice. Not sure if you meant to name drop on the first one though.

Thanks! Considering its way out in the middle of rural Louisiana and its being destroyed by the locals already, I figured it wouldn't really hurt.

Beautiful! It looks like you used early morning light, if I'm not mistaken.

I really like the first shot and the irony of 8106.

Looks more like mid-day light to me, johnny.

Thanks, johnny. We were there between 9:30am and 10:30am, so the sun was pretty high up already. That first shot is HDR to bring out the clouds.

Thank you! Yeah, the 'academic growth' flag is kind of sad.
