Hello again!
The Eastern plains have become one of my favorite places to explore. The region is littered with semi-abandoned ghost towns. Despite the decline of family owned farms, some people choose to remain in towns that time forgot. Most people, however, have left. Homes and businesses remain intact as if people just left and forgot. Every once and a while my exploring crew and I hop in the classic xterra and get a chance to see these amazing places. I apologise for the picture quality, these are all hastily taken with my shitty phone camera. Maybe someone who is a better photographer will be able to truly show what these places are like. Many of these places rival Gilman in terms of things to see, as well as historical value. Now on to the pictures. There is a building in one of these towns that clearly in a large fire. We were able to get in, but there was little to see. Another one of the buildings seen in the pictures below was possibly used as some sort of haunted house, or by meth addicts hahaha. Old grain mills and elevators are found in almost all of these towns,and the control room (?) along the railroad tracks is seen below. One of my favorite locations was an abandoned gas station, which is in great condition, even though it is clear that it has been abandoned for many years!

I appreciate the dedication of chasing this post down haha. The gas station is one of my favorite locations. Such a long drive but so worth it!

In a handouty sort of way I have to ask, is that grain silo thing in Agate active? What a hell hole of a town. Just wondering if you've been there in travels.

I've been to that exact grain silo thing. I'm fairly certain it's not active, but if you look at it on gmaps you might think otherwise. Agate is one of the weirdest towns out there I've been to. When we went it night time and freezing. We checked out the grain building for a few minutes, but it was way too cold and the town had a strange vibe to it so we got out. Maybe during the summer I'll see if it had anything interesting but I have my doubts.

Well this confirms it for me. Time to start hitting up the plains.

Awesome photos! Still need to get out to Arriba, that town looks cool.

The plains definitely are a hidden gem for Colorado urbex, I love exploring out there. So much history and coolness just waiting to be explored.

Yup! As all the good places on the Front Range dry up, the best stuff is now ou East. Totally worth the drive!

Love the old haunted house! That's creepy and wonderful! Was the rest of it equally so?
And the gas station looks amazing! Great shots!

I definitely need to go up there then when I get the chance, its really close by to my current work to so that's a plus.
