Old Telegraph building on the bay. NJ. This used to be a hub that shot all the way out across the Atlantic to England. Its all boarded now and a possible hazmat site, which is why I didn't go in. Still a really cool building. First post. Ran out of room on the phone or there'd be better pics.

Behind the kerosene tank is another small abandoned utilities building.

What's it look like inside or from the roof?

Didnt get to go in yet cuz it may be a Hazmat site due to the battery acid in the transformers, and the semi recent hurricane. Going back very soon to get back on roof, pics will be posted.

Fuck Hazmat. Stroll right in there like you own the dump!

It's worth the effort.

Transformers are not full of battery acid, they're full of oil. The oil keeps the windings inside cool. They used to have PCBs in them, so you could potentially be exposed to a carcinogen, but they're not dangerous in the sense of getting hosed with battery acid.

My family keeps our boat right next to here. That was the old ship to shore radio hub for long distance communications before the advent of satellite radio and modern communications. It took a beating in Sandy, but its still an awesome building. Definitely worth peaking inside.

Wow I haven't see this place in a while. I believe I got inside sometime in 2010. I wonder how the inside has changed. It's not the best spot but it's worth taking a peek inside.
