Just a chilly little venture on a chilly little Saturday morning.

Anybody remember Marathon Petroleum Company? This particular location has been closed down for quite a while.

1.

I remember when this place was still going. Used to buy a Star Crunch there every day after school.
2.

This was a great omen.
3.

4.

5.

6.

Jackpot!
7.

8.

9.

The last entry on this chart is February 20, 2005.

10.

Lots of personal stuff left behind.
11.

12.

13.

No tone.
14.

I was shocked to find its outdoor bathroom completely unlocked.
15.

16.

And, to finish it off, the obligatory...

...peeling paint shot.
17.

...selfie.
18.

...shitter shot.
19.

...and, of course, a lonesome 'ol chair.
20.

Thanks for reading! Feedback is always welcome.

Great set, Johnny-Cakes!
Hey man, do you always explore in a dinner jacket, silver tie and a woman's plantation hat?

"Are you happy now with all the choices you've made?" "Are there times in life when you know you should've stayed?"
"Will you compromise and then realize the price is too much to pay?" "Winners and losers... which one will you be today?"

Nothing suits me like a suit, your Radicalness. And that's my Panama hat! I got it as a gift from an old friend on my first archaeological dig.

Oh, that's a Panama hat? My bad, bro. I meant no offense.
Hey, did you know Panama hats originated from Ecuador? Back in the early 1800's, Panama was the first stop in the hat's exportation to foreign lands and since that was the place most of them were first purchased, they became Panama hats. It's actually an Ecuador hat!

Awesome set bro! I'd love to find an abandoned gas station/convenience store someday. I'm surprised that big sign is still there

I'm really digging that old Marathon sign; it's in incredible condition (even despite the cracks), for being outdoors. Friends of mine have one that hasn't survived nearly as well, though being in one piece.

I never take anything from my explorations because, well, firstly, it's wrong, and because I like to leave things for other people to see, but also slightly because I'm afraid that if I were a worse person and started taking things, I'd never stop, and then I'd wonder how I ended up with so much shit. "Oh, look at this...cool...thing I got from...that place (which I can't remember). Isn't it...cool?"

I'm shocked, too! Its been out there for nine years!

As for souvenirs, I take nothing. I learned that when I first started diving. If everybody lucked something from a wreck, there'd be no wreck left before too long.
