| | | Has anyone here ever gone to the Killing Fields? (pls be kind 1st post!) All along the I-45 corridor, many bodies have been found. It is suspected that multiple killers have been active, particularly during the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Activity seems to have dropped off recently, although someone sent a spooky stereotypical serial killer letter (you know the one... cut out of newspapers and magazines, makes no sense, Zodiac wannabe) to Tim Miller, the founder of Texas Equusearch, and whose own daughter was murdered. Although murders often take place in Friendswood, La Marque, Galveston, League City, and Bayou Vista, one particular place of interest was the "Killing Fields" an abandoned oil field off of Calder Drive. Anyone ever been out there? Are there structures? Is it worth a snoop? Anyone know the exact location? I think I know roughly were it is, but I do not wish to be lost out there. What is the terrain like? Is it woody, swampy, or like plains? Should I be strapped? (ok, relax, this one is a joke.)

I live nearby. I have. It's definitely something yo do in the winter months, if you do it at all. I won't say it's completely boring, but I went in the spring, and I ended up with thorns in every article of clothing I was wearing. So much under growth. We also ran into some neat critters while there.
| Yeah, we went and couldn't find any buildings or the baseball fields at all. All we did was find the old road and bridge, telephone poles, and fire hydrants. I think it was chiefly because my gang of idiots has to do everything at night so it was very dark. Anyways, it looked like they beefed up security in the front. Most people said you could just walk in, and even that you were allowed to be there (there is a picture here on the forums of a sign that reads "USA PROPERTY RULES", and then lists out rules you have to follow to be there.) I had also seen a youtube video of people driving about there, and it was only posted about two years ago. Now there is a double gate with a ton of security cameras and barbed wire. We were ready to waltz in, so we had to improvise, and ended up entering through an adjacent neighborhood. Interestingly enough, as new as the gates and fencing around the front looks, the fence that guards the bridge is in severe disrepair and has fallen down.
