Hey guys I'm on spring break right now and I'm staying on Chincoteague Island, VA for the next few days. On my way here I noticed a plethora of openly abandoned buildings. Would anyone be down to take some photos around here with me? I don't have internet at my friends house but I'll be checking me messages every few hours on my phone

I'm jealous, bro! That island is so beautiful! Are the wild horses out yet? I know they pen them up during the bad-weather months. Photo op of a lifetime right there. I used to stay in Cherrystone Campground in Cheriton and we'd visit the two islands there.

Jealous, too.
I wasn't aware they were able to pen the wild horses in winter; I wonder if they still do yearly auctions to keep the population under control?

Here's a fantastic history on the wild horses of both islands.

Very cool! Ha - now I remember where I first heard about the horses: I read Misty of Chincoteague as a kid.
And so many shipwrecks, too... now I'm uber-jealous.

I see your coming from the south but a bit north of there in rehobeth beach I believe there's an old military base with buildings, battery's etc. I remember camping at the state park there and exploring them when I was a young lad.

I was just on the beach and I didn't see any horses so I think they are still in the pen. I didn't bring my camera or tripod but I will tomorrow and I'll post some pics!

I'll see if I can convince my friends to make the trip! Thanks for the tip!

So I haven't really spent much time taking pictures of the beach but here are a few from yesterday that I thought were kinda cool

1. Did a little trespassing for this one

2. Lock on a temporarily(?) abandoned fishing warehouse.

3. There were lots of ducks but I couldn't get good pictures of them. Does anyone have any advice on how I could have gotten a crisper shot?

4. The Beach
