uploads look blurry

So I've tried a few different methods of uploading my pics, but when I preview them on UER, they look unacceptably blurry. I tried uploading direct from my desktop, tried grabbing the links in different sizes from Flickr by adding IMG tags to that, tried using the Easy Gallery maker upload-er choosing big vs. small pics, and also attempted to just upload one at a time trimmed down to 98K a file.

But I'm still not sure if anyone else sees this happen with their own pictures, on this site?

When you want to share from Flickr, just use the grab html/bb code, copy and paste and you're done....the images being blurry though just sounds like they are blurry from the get go?

They actually did away with providing the links directly on Flickr but you can still find them using your computer by right clicking to get file info on an image when it's shown on the 'view all sizes' page.

Blurry to begin with? No, all I have to do is make a comparison.. Before and then after uploading. I've seen it happen on another site though, not just this one. Like I said, I tried every option I can think of. One day I'll figure it out.

Ok, here is what the image looks like when I stick it here, in the forum

And here is the same size image as it appears on Flickr, more sharp and you can see details in the wall that you simply cannot see here.
http://www.flickr..../c/in/photostream/

Additionally, the image I posted in the forum now, which was supposed to be 800x534, is for some reason, less than that.

I'm guessing the problem is UER's shrinking the image embedded in the forum down to something slightly smaller than the original, and so it's probably getting re-sampled to death.

Select the size, make sure you have BBCode selected, copy the code, paste.
That should work.

Ok, I figured it out.

I just learned by messing with my browser picture zoom (yes I use that) that pictures only come into complete focus at an ideal "zoom" (probably zero zoom).
Text is always in focus, pictures are not.

I ALSO learned that the browser picture zoom between each tab can be different, depending on how you set it up and left it.

The latter was really making things confusing for a very long time.
You learn something new every day. Yay Firefox.

thanks man, I'll give it a shot.
like I said, you can also just grab the html from a 'get info' read on the image, and then bracket it with "IMG"
