RI explorer with trip coming up/ Why create an "event"? < on 3/8/2014 6:21 AM > | Reply with Quote
So I have a full week of opportunity coming up for traveling west or southwest from RI to explore what I've researched, but I don't feel that creating an 'Event' is necessary.
Should I post my availability as an exploring person with dates and locations in the "wanted" or "job ops" section? (half kidding... I know there is no such thing)
Anyhow, my plan is to post the actual cities and days of my travel, if that helps anyone decide if they want to explore with me.

Making it an event has a few perks as far as UER goes. This will make it appear on the UER calender and will allow any UER member to RSVP. If you want to take that route you want to make the description as accurate as you can (ie- if you have no locations the post that, if you have places in mind post that, etc). This will also qualify you to have a mod accept your gathering as an official UER event and it will appear on your profile as well as everyone else that attended.
If you dont want to go that organized you should post in a regional forum. Include a few pictures of places you have been (using photos that you have taken) and give a brief explanation of why you are hosting this event.
If people want to/can explore with you on that date they will respond.
The Durango '95 purred away a real horrowshow - a nice, warm vibraty feeling all through your guttiwuts. And soon it was trees and dark, my brothers, with real country dark.

As send4help said... your best bet is to post in the forum region of which you will be in. Post the dates and cities of where youll be and see if anyone wants to tag along.
