620 Film

So when my father-in-law died a couple years ago, I was given his old camera:

It takes 620 roll film. It seems like besides Ebay, B&H Photo is the only place that sells it. It's $15 a roll, and before I spend a bunch of money buying film for it I'm wondering if it's worth it and if anyone has any advice. I'm far from a pro, but I know my way around a camera. Will I even be able to get these developed? I'd be OK with developing them myself (B&W only) if needed.

Cool! Thanks for that! I thought the film looked pretty similar.

Thanks! The bellows is kind of split on the corner, but nothing that can't be solved with a bit of gaff tape. I've been reading up on it online, and it looks like a worthwhile pursuit. After a while, I may even try using some expired film, since there's a lot for sale on eBay.

I have shot quite a bit with the 120 to 620 conversion, and it has been a worthwhile adventure.

Glad to hear that. I bought a roll from Ebay, and when I get some time I'm gonna head out and expose myself. I also picked up some darkroom supplies from Craig's List, including a tank that will take medium format film. I'm really getting excited about this!

Remember if you ever send off for developing ask to keep the 620 spool! If you have a 620 spool then you can roll 120 film onto it whenever you want.
