Mine is my idea of a relaxing day at the pool. Taken earlier this year at Grossingers Resort indoor pool. Me and a friend drove 5 hours each way to explore the place. Even though it is pretty trashed it was worth the drive!!

This lighthouse (supposedly haunted) sits on a ledge in the middle of a wide river. The constant flow of river traffic, including high-speed passenger Hydrofoils makes any approach problematic. It is on my "End of Days" bucket list, along with the Brooklyn Bridge and some other spots I'll explore when I'm so old I don't give a damn if I'm caught or not, which isn't too far away.

I very much love this lighthouse and would love to someday visit it also. It's beautiful. You used to have a different picture of it, without the waves, right? I hope you make it there!

Peter Gabriel in his Foxtrot costume.

No significance, I just used Peter Gabriel as an avatar on a lot of other forums.

They are. What is worse is that their staff
("owners") encourage their snobby behavior.

We are not in the 80's and 90's anymore; proudly claiming to being one is a growing trend nowadays.

This will sound stupid, but mine is from TMNT. I grew up with it and when my grandpa died, I got back into it for comfort.

So as stupid as it may seem, it has a lot of meaning to me.

Not stupid, awesome. Mine is from a Nightmare Before Xmas! The Valentine's land tree always resonated with me

Now for a question.. To upload the shot as my profile picture I had to resize it and it made it very unclear. How do you overcome that? None of your profile shots are unclear.

The .jpg file format carries a lot of overhead in the form of segments for holding data other than pixels (geocoding for example). I don't know the details, but I'm guessing that these segments may be optional and may be variable-length. So it's possible that a file's size may be inflated by empty or unneeded segments. Cutting the pixel count by resizing your image or allowing a high, noisy level of data compression has no effect on whatever overhead segments are in the picture file.

I was able to get around this problem (or accidentally do something entirely different, but I'm sticking with this theory) by reading my avatar file into a program that I've noticed creates small .jpg files and rewriting it from there. (My theory; it omits or shrinks some overhead segments.) I used a freeware OSX app called PaintCat to do this. It's a knock-off of Windows Paint; so if you run W, try that program.

My avatar is from the first site I explored after finding out about UER. I thought the open, broken gate expressed decay and opportunity.

I bought a new pair of shoes and really liked how they looked next to the ones I had been wearing for a little more than a year. Thought it would look cool as a profile pic.

Also metaphors and stuff.

First off I simply just love tigers. Secondly, I believe there is two sides to everyone and I like the way this picture represents that.

An overly dramatic selfie taken at Firestone. It implies that I'm overly dramatic, though I'm not.
